The Problem
A will can nominate a guardian for your children. But actually getting a will done requires meeting with an attorney, a separate signing appointment, and time you may not have right now. GuardianLock lets you formally nominate a guardian today, on your own, without any of that.
The court shall appoint the nominated guardian unless the appointment would be contrary to the best interest of the minor.
Ark. Code Ann. § 28-65-204
Arkansas law gives you the right to nominate a guardian by written instrument, separate from your will, signed and notarized. GuardianLock is that document.

Questions
Do I still need this if I have a will?
Not necessarily. If your will already nominates a guardian for your minor children, you may be covered. GuardianLock is for parents who do not yet have a will, whose will does not address guardianship, or who want a standalone document that is immediately available without going through probate.
Can I use an online notary?
Yes. You can sign the document at home and acknowledge your signature in front of an online notary on video. Platforms like Notarize.com make this simple. The included instructions walk you through it. Do not complete the notary section yourself. The notary handles that.
What if I want to change my nominated guardian later?
Just reach out to evan@belllaw.co. Existing GuardianLock customers who need to update their nomination will receive a discount code making a new purchase free of charge.
Does one parent signing cover our children?
Each parent's nomination speaks only to that parent's wishes in the event they are the last surviving parent. If one parent dies, the surviving parent continues automatically as the sole legal parent and this document has no effect at that point. It only becomes relevant when the last surviving parent dies or becomes incapacitated. That is why both parents signing is always recommended.
Your children deserve an answer to this question.
Done in minutes, from home. The only thing standing between your kids and a stranger’s decision is this document.
