Powers of Attorney — Agents
Your agents act on your behalf if you become incapacitated. You may name the same person for both financial and healthcare decisions, or different people.

The trustee manages the assets held in your trust. For a revocable living trust, you typically serve as your own trustee during your lifetime.

Beneficiaries
Who receives your estate? List primary beneficiaries first, then contingent (backup) beneficiaries.
Primary vs. ContingentPrimary beneficiaries receive your estate first. Contingent beneficiaries receive assets only if all primary beneficiaries predecease you.
Minor Children
If you have minor children, your will should name a guardian. We will cover that on the next step. For beneficiary purposes, assets left to minor children are typically held in trust until a specified age.
